Loose Leaf
When I went to Staples I was looking around the notebook and notebook paper section and I found a pack of paper that is 80% sugarcane waste! I had never heard of such a thing but I bought a couple packs of 100 sheets of the 80% sugar cane waste paper and I love it. Its a little more slick then regular loos leaf but I like the feel when I'm writing on it.
Notebooks
The notebook was also manufactured using 80% sugar cane waste. When I found these on the shelves at Staples I almost didn't see them. The cover is very bland, most likely some sort of recycled card board. The pages are like those of the loose leaf, slicker then regular paper, but very nice to write on. These are great for using as a class notebook, plus they are 80% waste! Talk about limiting waste that goes into a landfill. Cost $2.49 a pop instead of $2.65 for a 'new' notebook.
Legal Pads
They are Ampad Evidence 50% Recycled, White, 5 x 8, Writing pads. Made with 50% recycled paper. I can maybe see why a CEO of a big company wants the professional looking legal pads but for everyday home and office use, why can't you use recycled legal pads? These are just as good as any 'new' type of legal pads you buy, but they are more eco-freindly. Cost 12.99 for a pack of 12 which is a little over $1.00 each!
Computer Paper
Paper Towels
I want to first say that an even better way to clean, and dry your hands is a small towel. They last much much longer then paper towels because you can just throw them into the wash and reuse them. But if you want paper towels, these are the ones to get! They are Marcal 100% recycled paper towels, 2-ply. The are 100% recylced with a mininum 60% post consumor content. You wouldn't even know they were recycled inless you saw the packageing, they work just as well as any 'new' roll of paper towels. $15.99 for a case of 12.
